University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Football Office records, 1934-1990.

Records consist largely of 16mm films of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill football games produced by the University's Football Office, part of its Department of Athletics. The films provide unique angles and views of the games not usually captured by broadcasters' or opposing teams' media crews. Included is footage from the Charlie Justice era, 1946-1949, and footage of bowl games, from the 1947 Sugar Bowl to the 1986 Aloha Bowl. Also represented are seasons from the tenures of Coach Bill Dooley, 1967-1977; Coach Dick Crum, 1979-1983; and defensive linebacker Lawrence Taylor, 1977-1981. Records also include 183 VHS videotapes of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill regular season football and bowl games made by the Football Office from films of the games. In addition, there are roughly 32 films of sports other than football. Most of the latter are films of basketball games from the 1940s and 1950s, including the 1949 game against New York University at Madison Square Garden. There are also a few films of baseball, tennis, and women's volleyball.
